Have you ever thought about sleeping in a tzigani caravan?

Some of the most outstanding trends of the recent years are the folk, gypsy , boho , hippie style … The preference for these styles translates very accurately a phenomenon that is growing bigger , the digital nomad . We live in a paradox, as governments insist on raising walls and leave the “poor” world out of it, each day more people ( from the rich world ) helped by the Internet , create new job genres and choose this lifestyle, to call the world home.

The current digital nomads like the ancient nomads decided to stay in a place as long as this place makes them happy, if they are fine there. Happiness is not a destination but a journey, made by choices. But, I will talk more about the subject on my next post. Today I will talk about a place, an angle from paradise that made me travel in a nomadic past.

The pursuit for genuine emotions

While our society is trying increasingly to approve us, offering imitations, chic and impersonal “minimalism” or the “essentiality” that has very little of Zen, we are taught to eat the same things and sleep in rooms equally alike in Japan and New York insisting to call “globalization” laziness and the law of profit at all costs, in contrast, a growing number of people who rebel against this system, increasingly seeking genuine emotions and especially in moments of recreation.

When I was looking for a different place to photograph the editorial dedicated to the designer Ilaria Bertipagani . I found this magical country tourism, out of time, and fell in love with the dedication that the owners have restored the old Tzigani caravans, where the guests can sleep.

Azienda Agricola Della Mezzaluna provides excitement and authenticity with its 2 Tzigani Hungarian caravans of the early 1900 and a caravan of the 60s are beautiful, romantic, elegant, comfortable and the position of the Azienda Agricola Della Mezzaluna is privileged, between the Versilia sea and the Alps of Apuana with a panoramic view of the entire coast and the Massaciuccoli lake. The caravans are surrounded by a beautiful garden full of rose bushes, valerianas, olive trees. The relax is guaranteed by the silence, which is only interrupted by birdsong and a clean pool. This experience is accompanied by the quality of organic products produced in Azienda Agricola Della Mezzaluna: Wine, Olive Oil, seasonal fruits, jams … Everything can be consumed in the kind company of donkeys.

For a person like me, who want a gypsy life without borders, one night in Gruccione, Rigogolo or Poiana, with the energy of nomads who lived before, I feel encouraged to dream and plan a life and a little more adventure.
